Biografie
Michelle Mallinger behaalde haar Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance aan de San José State University (VS). Vervolgens studeerde zij aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag, waar zij de bachelors koordirectie en solozang afrondde. In 2018 behaalde zij een Bachelor of Science in logopedie, gevolgd door een Master of Science in klinische epidemiologie aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam in 2023. Haar vaste zangdocent is sopraan Nelly Miricioiu.
Als operazangeres vertolkte Michelle onder meer de rollen van Dido (Purcell, Dido and Aeneas), La Messagera (Monteverdi, Orfeo), Venus (John Blow, Venus and Adonis, inclusief barokdans en -gestiek) en Béatrice (Berlioz, Béatrice et Bénédict). Zij was finalist van het Concours International de Chant Baroque de Chimay (2004) en bereikte de halve finale van zowel het Brunnenthaler Concours voor Oude Muziek (Oostenrijk, 2007) als het Spazio Musica Concours in Orvieto (2008). In 2006 behaalde Michelle haar post-graduate diploma aan de Operastudio Vlaanderen in Gent. Een jaar later vertolkte zij de titelrol in Rossini’s La Cenerentola bij de Hamburger Kammeroper (52 uitvoeringen). In 2010 debuteerde zij in het Concertgebouw met muziek van Lotichius en maakte zij haar ensembledebuut bij De Nederlandse Opera in de productie A Dog’s Heart. In samenwerking met regisseur Hans Nieuwenhuis voerde zij in 2016 Poulencs monodrama La Voix Humaine uit, in Nederland en Muscat (Oman).
Naast haar zangcarrière was Michelle ruim twaalf jaar zangdocent aan het Muziekinstituut van de St. Bavo Koorschool in Haarlem. Momenteel is zij docent Amerikaans-Engels aan het Conservatorium van Amsterdam en volgt zij de opleiding tot Physician Assistant, gespecialiseerd in stem- en keelklachten, bij de afdeling KNO van het OLVG ziekenhuis in Amsterdam. Tevens is zij medeoprichter van Stichting La Voix in Haarlem.

In 2018, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Speech Therapy, followed by a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Amsterdam in 2023. Her regular singing teacher is soprano Nelly Miricioiu.
As an opera singer, Michelle has performed roles including Dido (Purcell, Dido and Aeneas), La Messagera (Monteverdi, Orfeo), Venus (John Blow, Venus and Adonis, including baroque dance and gestures) and Béatrice (Berlioz, Béatrice et Bénédict). She was a finalist in the Concours International de Chant Baroque de Chimay (2004) and reached the semi-finals of both the Brunnenthaler Concours voor Oude Muziek (Austria, 2007) and the Spazio Musica Concours in Orvieto (2008). In 2006, Michelle obtained her postgraduate diploma at the Operastudio Vlaanderen in Ghent. A year later, she performed the title role in Rossini's La Cenerentola at the Hamburger Kammeroper (52 performances). In 2010, she made her debut at the Concertgebouw with music by Lotichius and made her ensemble debut with De Nederlandse Opera in the production A Dog's Heart. In collaboration with director Hans Nieuwenhuis, she performed Poulenc's monodrama La Voix Humaine in 2016, in the Netherlands and Muscat (Oman).
In addition to her singing career, Michelle was a singing teacher at the Music Institute of the St. Bavo Choir School in Haarlem for over twelve years. She currently teaches American English at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and is training to become a Physician Assistant, specializing in voice and throat complaints, at the ENT department of the OLVG hospital in Amsterdam. She is also co-founder of the La Voix Foundation in Haarlem.
